Portstewart Strand – one of Northern Ireland’s finest and most popular beaches is located just 1.4 miles or a 20 minute walk from the property. The Strand is a stunningly beautiful long, gently shelving sandy beach managed by the National Trust. Portstewart Crescent features a fountain which hosts thirty three streaming musical jets which are synchronized to music creating a magical experience during show times. Reaching heights of up to 4 meters, with multi coloured lights and a variety of tunes, it is spectacular and appeals to both children and adults and is just 6minutes away by car.
There is a paddling pool and boating lake which children love. The play area and cafe provides teas and refreshments, along with an outdoor covered seating and viewing area.
Portstewart’s Diversity Park Just a 5 minute stroll from Tranquility, this award wining play park is located in the grounds of Flowerfield Arts Centre. It has a mix of play equipment for able bodied children as well as those with disabilities and sensory needs. It includes an area for younger children as well as a wheelchair swing and an aero glider which was imported from America.
For the rainy days to keep the kids amused the Jet Centre, Coleraine is only 5 miles away. It features Alley Cats – an Indoor soft play centre, Multi Screen Cinema and Ten Pin Bowling. http://www.thejetcentre.co.uk/

Portstewart Golf Club – for golfing enthusiasts the magnificent Portstewart Golf Club is located just a 3 minute drive away and offers visitors a choice of three 18 hole golf courses including the famous and highly regarded Strand Course. Downhill Beach – Downhill Beach is an 11km stretch of sand and surf offering a wealth of activities including water sports, scenic walks and facilities for that perfect family day out. The beach, for 2012, has also won the prestigious blue – flag award, recognised throughout Europe.

Mussenden Temple – located just 12 miles from Tranquility guests will encounter one of the most photographed areas in Northern Ireland, Mussenden Temple is perched dramatically on a 120 ft cliff top, high above the Atlantic Ocean on the north-western coast of Northern Ireland, offering spectacular views westwards over Downhill Strand towards Magilligan Point and County Donegal and to the east Castlerock beach towards Portstewart, Portrush and Fair Head. Whiterocks Beach Portrush – recently awarded with the prestigious 2015 Blue Flag Award, Whiterocks Beach attracts water sports enthusiasts, and is excellent beach for surfers and body boarders. The limestone cliffs of the White Rocks stretch from Curran Strand to Dunluce Castle. These soft, sedimentary rocks have been carved through centuries into a labyrinth of caves and arches. Shelagh’s Head, the Wishing Arch, Elephant Rock and the Lion’s Paw are headlands of distinguishable forms which rise out of the ocean. Dunluce Castle – Located on the scenic coast road between Portrush and Bushmills and just 7 miles from Tranquility; Dunluce Castle is one of a series of fortifications built on rocky outcrops extending into the sea and is thought by many to be among the most picturesque and romantic Irish Castles. Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge – one of Northern Irelands best loved attractions Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge is a 35 minute drive from Tranquility and offers an exhilarating experience for all those who dare to cross it. Traditionally fishermen erected the bridge to Carrick-a-Rede Island over a 23m-deep and 20m-wide chasm to check their salmon nets. Today visitors are drawn here simply to take the rope bridge challenge! The Titanic Experience – The world’s largest Titanic visitor experience is just 60miles from Tranquility and well worth a day trip to Belfast. It explores the sights, sounds, smells and stories of RMS Titanic. A one hour Discovery tour is available as well as the opportunity to explore the shipyard. The Giants Causeway – just a 30 minute drive from Tranquility you will find Northern Ireland’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site. Renowned for its polygonal columns of layered basalt resulting from a volcanic eruption 60 million years ago, this is the focal point of a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has attracted visitors for centuries. Rathlin Island – Amidst the rugged landscape of this isolated island, you can let your mind wander and discover a tranquility and beauty that is so unexpected. The ferry to Rathlin Island travels just six miles across the “Sea of Moyle”. This island is six miles long, one mile wide, “L” shaped and home to a small population of around seventy people.
